Recent Strategies for Using Monolithic Materials in Glycoprotein and Glycopeptide Analysis

There is continuous effort towards developing monolithic materials as solid supports for the separation, enrichment, and digestion of glycoproteins. The intention this review to discuss summarize work reported in area during period 2015–2021 a follow-up our prior review. Reports from past three decades have already proven advantages materials, such ease with which they can be prepared functionalized, their high permeability low resistance mass transfer, stability over wide range pH. Recent works on glycoprotein analysis introduce different strategies using specifically identification glycoproteins, glycopeptides, free glycans. A majority these are focused boronic acid affinity-based technique others lectin affinity HILIC-based techniques. also newly developed ligands that utilize interactions glycans, encapsulation into β-cyclodextrin vesicles, CH- or OH-π fullerenes, immunoaffinity monoclonal antibodies, H-bonding metallophthalocyanines, coordination cobalt phthalocyanine tetracarboxylic acid, hydrophilic interaction cyclodextrin molecular tubes, zwitterionic iminodiacetic boric acid. on-line, multidimensional systems use immobilized enzyme reactors (IMERs) high-throughput analysis.
